Rørosmuseet Doktortjønna is located a short walk from the center of Røros. It is a family friendly destination offering a variety of outdoor and indoor activities. 

The pond can be explored with our popular pedal-boats, canoes or our old-fashioned timber raft. You can climb, balance, float logs in our timber gutter, whittle, and practice basic carpentry.

There is a path from the water leading up to Kvitsanda, which is a unique natural environment with striking contrasts.

Every summer, farm-animals live at Doktortjønna! Join us to feed the animals daily at 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Here you’ll meet cows, pigs, chickens, and rabbits.

If you need a break, you can enjoy an ice cream or a simple lunch at the small café or bring your own food and settle down at one of our outside tables.
